The Beginners Guide to Cold Brew Coffee - What Is Cold Brew?

If you love coffee, there's a good chance that you've heard some hype around cold brew. It is a summer staple for some, and a year-round passion for others and for good reason.

Here at Smart Sips Coffee, we are obsessed with creating all things exciting and delicious, and we are happy to announce our new cold brew collection. We have created the smoothest, easiest to brew and most flavorful cold brew coffees, and we can’t wait to share them with you.

However, for all of our Smart Sippers who may not be familiar with exactly what cold brew is, here is a little overview.

What is Cold Brew Coffee?

Cold Brew coffee, by definition, is the process of steeping (or soaking) coffee grounds in cold water or room-temperature water for 12-24 hours. The result is much different than what you would get by simply icing a hot brewed coffee.

The lack of heat creates a brew with a much lower acidity, more smoothness, greater sweetness, and less overall bitterness. A batch of cold brew coffee is generally more concentrated, stronger and perfect for the addition of any milk or sweetener.

How Do You Brew Cold Brew Coffee?

We made brewing cold brew as easy as 1, 2, 3!

1) Place one Smart Sips Cold Brew Coffee Pack in cold  64 ounces (half gallon) of water.

2) Steep/Soak at room temperature for 12 hours.

3) Pour over ice and enjoy!

We suggest using a half gallon pitcher so that there is no measuring water. You simply fill it up and you’re ready to go.

Cheers to better, more delicious cold brew! Questions about Cold Brew? Don't hesitate to reach out to info@smartsipscoffee.com!
